April 18 – Waiting for the Flowers
April 17 – A Sure Sign of Spring
April 16 – Ode to Warm
Spring is really settling in during my walk. All around me is evidence of the world awakening from the long sleep of winter. More and more people appear on the sidewalks, walking, blading, or riding their bikes. The sun no longer makes promises and then fails to deliver. Now the sunshine warms my face. My parka is firmly in the closet, although not totally packed away just yet. I’m Canadian enough to know there could always be another icy blast if I dare to put away all the winter gear too soon. To appease those finicky spirits, my winter boots stand ready beside the door.
Just in caseā¦
Amidst the rubble of the garden, the first shoots of life.
The first bud of life on the trees.
Now that the snow pile is gone, small bursts of green take over.
I love the tenacity of life, pushing up through twigs and branches. Nothing can stop its expression.
A look of desolation through the trees.
